We are seeking Area Sales Manager - Watertown, SD with similar values, who can put his or her expertise to work. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for forging strong relationships that grow the business, drive project delivery, enhance customer experience, build community engagement, and foster our culture.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Drive new business opportunities through direct efforts such as collaboration with others, networking and forging strong business relationships focused on building a pipeline of new and existing business.
  • Professionally present the company’s capabilities and offerings to prospective customers highlighting our key differentiators.
  • Assist in the development of accurate estimates, project pricing, developing contract backlog, capturing opportunities, and evaluating contract profit and loss.
  • Collaborate with leadership in building strategic business plans and defining sales strategies that align with overall business objectives to drive growth.
  • Review and collaborate on project schedules with the Director of Commercial Operations, Project Managers and Estimators ensuring project delivery, quality, safety, compliance, efficiency and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills necessary for success in this role:

  • Must be a strong team player who is able to work effectively with a variety of people, personalities, skills, and organizational levels.
  • Experience establishing and developing long-term client relationships is a necessity.
  • Strong understanding of planning, goal setting, and time management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, and a proven track record of successfully building new business.
  • An unwavering focus on safety.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Construction or Business-related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in sales, project management, and/or supervision in the heavy highway and heavy civil construction preferred.
  • Travel required in the assigned geography.
